Vageesh Jangam

Jangam Vageesh (born 1996) is an Indian pilot. He became the world's youngest pilot to be rated on Boeing 787.
Biography
Jangam Vageesh, is an Indian Commercial Pilot License holder. He was born in Anantapur town in Andhrapradesh to Prof. Shivakumar (Dean) and Shri.Sumalatha. He has an elder sister Vinutha. He is proficient in Telugu, English, Hindi and Kannada languages.
Education
Vageesh excelled in his studies even from his childhood. While he was studying in Eighth standard, he participated in 16th National Children Science Congress, in which his out standing performance made him cross the district and state level competition and found his place to participate in National level competition which was held at Dimapur, Nagaland. He received the excellence certificate during state level competition on the hands of M.S. Swaminathan. He also received the best project award in the National Level on the hands of former President of India APJ.Abdul Kalam. His project name was Natures Gift Medicinal Plants. After his schooling he plans to become a pilot, yet becoming a pilot is an expensive one. So he put it on the back burner. After his 12th standard he planned to study engineering in United Kingdom. He also got admission in University of London South bank. But his plan was rejected by his parents as they were worried of his vegetarian upbringing and he was just seventeen at that stage. But he was given choice by his parents to study as per his wish, till he reach an age of twenty in India. So he brought his previous plan of becoming pilot into reality.
Career
Vageesh enrolled in a Pilot training academy in Hyderabad, Telangana. He received his Commercial Pilots License issued by The Directorate General of Civil Aviation at an age of 19. He then moved to Greece, where he has undergone ground classes for Boeing 787. Later he moved to Abudhabi, United Arab Emirates for his further training on Boeing787 aircraft. He received Pilot license endorsed with Boeing787 at an age of 21. Thus he achieved a record title of Youngest Boeing787 (Dreamliner) rated pilot at an age of 21 by High Range Book of World Records. His achievements, efforts and endeavors were published as articles in leading news papers and websites. Vageesh was invited by the Vice President of India Shri. Venkaiah Naidu to his official residence at New Delhi to appreciate him on the achievements. He was introduced to the then Union Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu by the Vice President of India himself. Later Vageesh was also invited by the new appointed Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri to appreciate him on his endeavors. Aviation Minister also mentioned it on his official Twitter account.
Other Activities
Vageesh also participates in activities conducted by Satya Sai Organisation. He has been selected for the Satya Sai International Leadership Program for the year 2019-2020 batch, where just 200 applications are shortlisted from Lacks. Applicants are all across the globe from almost 183 countries.
