Utah Valley University Police Department

The Utah Valley University Police Department (UVPD) is an accredited police agency by the State of Utah. It's charged with protecting the safety and property of Utah Valley University. By having a dedicated public safety and law enforcement agency on campus, the interest and safety of the campus community can be swiftly served.
Description
The goal of the department is to allow for the pursuit of knowledge in a safe and secure environment to a diverse University community consisting of approximately 30,000 students, support faculty and staff. All officers are peace officer certified by Utah Peace Officer Standers and Training Academy (POST). Officers also receive specialized training each year for dealing with such a diverse population. Officers have a multitude of patrol methods available to them, including marked and unmarked vehicle patrol, foot and segway patrol, as well as plain clothes foot patrol. The department is staffed 24 hours a day, including holidays.
University Police Dispatch has access to a wide range of databases including National Crime Information Center (NCIC) to report serial numbers of stolen items nationwide. The department is located in the Gunther Trades building room 331 and can be contacted at (801) 863-5555 as well as dialing 911 for emergencies.
Fallen officers
Since the establishment of the Utah Valley University Police, no officers have died while on duty.
