USA National Grape Catching Competition

The USA National Grape Catching Competition (NGCC) is a national competition held annually in Denver, Colarado. The competition includes all contestants being put through multiple harrowing rounds of extreme grape catching. Example include grapes being fired out of slingshots, diving grape catches, as well as sprinting grape catches. (Diving grape catches are when a grape is shot high into the air towards a person atop a diving board. This person then times the grapes speed and judges its altitude and must jump off the board and catch the grape in their mouth before hitting the water. Sprinting grape catches are when the contestant must run quickly toward a certain point while looking backwards to catch the grape in their mouth.) As the contestants are quickly eliminated, the rounds become more and more tricky until there are only 10 remaining participants.
These participants are then put into the task of either self-guided blindness, or partner-guided blindness. This means that the contestant chooses whether to throw the grape into the air themselves, while blindfolded, and catch it in their mouth, or if rehearsed with a team-mate, the other may throw the grape to the contestant, while blindfolded. These roundes continue on a never-ending cycle until there is the Grape Catching Champion.
