UrbanTone Records

Urbantone Records is an American Independent Record Label founded by former Warner Bros. Records executive, G. Chapman in 2007. Upon its launch Urbantone was initially self-distributed. The label's first release in 2007 was Tomorrows bad seeds. The CD was titled "Early Prayers". Tomorrows bad seeds is a 5 piece band from Hermosa Beach with a unique sound that combines Reggae, Rock, Dub and Hip Hop Music into a fundamental development of conscious music. In 2009 Early Prayers had reached over 50,000 downloads with no radio or media promotion. On January 16, 2009 UrbanTone Records released the single "A Brand new America by two time grammy winner Keb' Mo'. In 2009 Urbantone signed Distribution with MRI a subsidiary of Sony/RED. In 2010 Urbantone Records released a second CD with Tomorrows Bad Seeds entitled "Sacred For Sale". On March 3, 2011 Urbantone Records band Tomorrows Bad Seeds performed on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, performing Only For You. In January, 2012 the Company was acquired.
