Up Until Now

Up Until Now is the first full length album by Brentley Gore, released on July 17, 2011. The first single from the album will be "Highwire". Five of the songs were recorded with his previous band King Straggler, who include Oscar nominated fellow band member John Hawkes. The tracks "Wasted Love", "A Thousand Miles" and "Soul to Waste" were recorded and released by King Straggler in 2005. However, "Highwire" and "No Time" were recorded with King Straggler in 2007 but never released.
The songs "Baby", "So Much Better" and "I'll Get By" were recorded with the late-great Don 'Redcloud' Smith in Los Angeles in 2008. Producer and engineer Don Smith has many recording credits to his name, including The Traveling Wilburys, Tom Petty, Keith Richards and The Rolling Stones. Brentley and Don were set to finish an entire album following these first recordings with Ringo Starr in mind for a track or two. However, Don Smith died suddenly 3 weeks prior to re-entering the studio.
Track 4 on "Up Until Now" is "Dear God". It was recorded in the mid 1990's with his older brother Craig Gore, but previously never officially released. "Dear God", Brentley's earliest recording and "Baby", Brentley's latest recording were both recorded at a Rolling Stones studio hideaway called Drive By Studios in Los Angeles, 14 years apart.
