Untitled Eric Clapton Project

New Album
In May 2008, Eric Clapton & Robbie Robertson told radio station, 97 Rock, that they had started recording their first album together. They've been working with drummer Ian Thomas and bass player Pino Palladino, both of whom joined Clapton on his North American spring tour this year.
It has been reported that Robertson will continue to work on the album, which will be all original material, and then get together with Clapton at the end of the summer. A source, close to Robertson noted, "They will take their time, and there is no release date or title."
This collaboration is another in a series of recent projects that Clapton has undertaken with friends and past collaborators. Since 2000 he has recorded albums with BB King and JJ Cale, reunited for seven shows with Cream, and performed with his former Blind Faith bandmate Steve Winwood this past February and last summer.
There is increasing speculation over the new album due to the fact that Clapton has confirmed tours of Japan, Australia & the United Kingdom, which will take place in 2009.
An informational video for Peterson guitar tuners, featuring Clapton's guitar technician, Lee Dickson, has been uploaded onto Youtube and reference is made to a project that Eric is currently undertaking with a few friends (Palladino & Robertson), which may or may not "see the light of day."
