Universal Converter is a proprietary file conversion software product by Soft Solutions for the conversion of files in PDF (PDF/A, PDF/X), HTML, , PNG, JPEG, BMP, PCX, TIFF, PS, EPS, TXT, PSD, PCL, SVG and other file formats. It acts as a virtual printer to convert any printable file to document formats (PDF, Doc, HTML etc.) and image file formats (TIFF, PNG, JPEG etc.). Virtual printers are not standalone software; they require applications to have printing capability and input file format support to spool the input file for conversion. Files can be spooled to a virtual printer from Microsoft Office applications, database applications, word processing applications or any other authoring applications using the application's print command. Universal Converter provides a command-line interface for automation and file security features such as password protection, digital watermarking and copy protection. These file security features also prevent illegal distribution and plagiarism. Universal Converter supports batch conversion to multiple output file formats. Universal Converter can also be used with Image to OCR Converter to create Text-only PDF files.
