United Students Federation

United Students Federation(USF) is a non-political nationwide student organisation in Pakistan aiming at supremacy of law. The body was created by a group of students in response to the proclamation of emergency by Gen. Musharraf on November 3, 2007.
Mission statement
"It represents all those students who want to see their country in a position where laws, not individuals, reign supreme. We, the students of Pakistan, refuse to accept any government that dismisses as traitors those who are loyal to their sworn oath of protecting the laws and people of the country, and elevates those who commit treason to the highest offices of the land."
History
This organisation was started by a group of students on Orkut from Pakistan after Gen. Musharraf proclaimed emergency on November 3, 2007. The main goal of this student organisation was to fight against the proclamation of emergency and the illegal suspension of the country's Chief Justice, Ch. Iftikhar Ali. Many students belonging from Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore worked together for this cause. They joined hands in various protests with Students Action Committee (SAC) and other organisations. During the rule of emergency students made different posters, white papers and other leaflets and distributed in their towns to spread awareness. This awareness campaign was carried out from the internet through a USF blog. This blog was maintained by a student named Husham from Islamabad and an American based Pakistani law student Munazza along with few other students. After the new democratic government came into the office after February 2008 elections, the USF organization has become dormant, though the blog is still very effectively maintained by the students.
