United States Office of the President-Elect

The Office of the United States' President-Elect is provided for the President-Elect during the transitional period between election and inauguration if they request such as stated under The Presidential Transition Act of 1963 and subsequent amendment in 2000. Office space, mail privileges, and secret service protection are some of the services provided under the bill; however, the act does not specify anything explicit in powers or duties.

History
The Office of the President-Elect was created in 1963 to help smooth transitions between incoming and outgoing presidents. Provisions such as office space were alloted to the President-Elect if they requested it. and used the same term on his website, controversy over the legality of such a institution arose, mostly from the right . Critics have said that there is nothing in the Constitution establishing such an office, while others have cited the Presidential Transition Act of 1963 and subsequent amendment in 2000 as a legal basis for the office.
