Synopsis
Tony is a newcomer to a town run by two rival gangs, the Cerillos and the Cadeneros. During one of their confrontations Tony chooses to step in and try to argue for peace, but is beaten for his actions. His cousin Jaway, a member of Cerillos and its future leader, takes him home where he tries to persuade Tony to stop interfering. Tony refuses, as he wants to lead the gangs to a more peaceful way of life, driven in part by his own history as someone who perpetuated violence.During his attempts to introduce the gang members to a peaceful, Christian life Tony accidentally enters into Cadeneros territory. He is captured, but punches out the gang leader before he is beaten too severely. This gains him newfound respect with people from both gangs and Jaway is pressured by the current leader of the Cerillos to enlist Tony into their ranks. Tony rejects this offer and his peaceful way of life and words cause many of the Cerillos to question their way of life.
Several of the Cadeneros begin to plan revenge against Tony for beating their leader and begin a whole new wave of conflicts. Tony continues to preach for peace. The Cadernos eventually corner Tony, who continues to reject violence. Eventually both sides begin to question their actions and way of life, including Jaway. The film ends with the possibility that the gang members will rethink their actions and choose a more peaceful life, as opposed to one of violence.
