Ulleskelf Vikings

Ulleskelf Vikings Football Club is an English football club based in Ulleskelf, York, North Yorkshire. The club participates in the York and District Sunday Afternoon league, the equivalent tenth tier of English football. Founded in 2009, the club recieved substanstial financial backing from an anonymous owner shortly after its creation. This mystery owner is known only as "The Laughing Viking" to club officials and has stated his intent to take the Vikings to The Football League. Recent press speculation has linked a well known ginger Television and Radio presenter to the ownership , although this was vehemently denied by both parties. The Viking's biggest claim to fame thus far was the transfer coup of Josh Rose, the former Scunthorpe United, York City and Alemannia Aachen midfielder. Although he is now 42, the move was heavily reported on by local newspapers and was the subject of a two page special edition pullout in the Tadcaster Banner.
