Tucker Barnes is an American weather broadcaster working as a weather producer and on-air meteorologist for WTTG Fox 5 Storm Force in Washington, DC. Barnes graduated from University of California, Berkeley and University of Maryland, College Park. Sea foam During live coverage of Hurricane Irene in Ocean City, Maryland, Barnes was covered in sea foam. Sue Palka, WTTG's Chief Meteorologist, described the sea foam as a natural occurrence caused by "matter in the water" such as proteins or sewage. Barnes said that the sea foam "tastes like sand.... has sort of a sand consistency" The Twitter hashtag [http://twitter.com/#!/search?q=%23seafoam #seafoam] was created to track the trending topic. According to the Town of Ocean City, the sea foam did not contain any raw sewage. |
