Tradenation luxury goods scam

Pansuk Siriwipa (born 16 October 1994) and Pi Jia Peng (born 15 August 1995) is a married couple and criminals wanted by Singapore for allegedly conducting scams. Pansuk and Pi later fled Singapore, the Interpol responded and issued a red notice against them. They were subsequently found in a hotel in Johor Bahru, arrested and extradited to Singapore on 11 August 2022.
Early life
Pansuk Siriwipa
Pansuk was born in Roi Et Province in Thailand. Pansuk and her siblings were reportedly working together as a vegetable seller previously in Thailand.
Pi Jia Peng
Pi was born in Fujian in China, he grown up in a single parent family and raised by his single mother, and he is the only child in the family. Pi dropped out of school in Secondary 3. He formerly worked as a salesman selling shoes. Pi lived with his single mother in a three-room flat in Yishun until December 2019.
Marriage
Both of them met each other on a dating app. Both Pansuk and Pi later married with each other in September 2020, and they later moved to lived in a rented landed property at Holland Road in Singapore. Pansuk was reportedly bought a McLaren sports car for Pi.
Involvement in scams
2019
It was reported that Pansuk allegedly conducted scam activities as early as 2019 in Thailand, by offering to provide luxury goods to Thai customers. She allegedly launched an Instagram account selling bags from brands including Celine and Gucci and watches including Patek Philippe and Rolex. A Thai woman allegedly ordered and paid for a Rolex, and later filed a police report when she did not receive the Rolex. Another women claimed she had lost over 680,000 Thai Baht after she ordered several Chanel handbags through Pansuk's Instagram account.
A Thai spa manager told the media that Pansuk was the face of the business and had four people helping her. The spa manager to the media she managed to received her first few order which arrived on time and in good condition. But when the spa manager continue to make new ordering, the items were not delivered. The spa manager then made a police report in mid-2019. The manager's friend also file a police report after Pansuk allegedly failed to deliver a luxury bag which her friend had paid 100,000 Thai Baht.
2021
Some buyers made advance payments to Pansuk and Pi of thousands of Singapore dollars for purchasing luxury watches and bags. The duo befriended some of their buyers, taking them out for meals in restaurants and inviting them to their home. The duo was then alleged for start making excuses for not delivering on the orders.
2022
Pansuk and Pi allegedly launched two companies in Singapore, Tradenation and Tradeluxury, and uses the companies to conduct scams by offering to purchase luxury goods behalf of their customers. They registered Tradenation as a precious stones and metals dealer with the in April 2022. It was reported that after collecting money from around 200 customers, the duo became uncontactable and customers begin to file police reports against them.
A Malaysian business owner then filed a police report at Singapore when he did not receive two Rolex watches he ordered from the duo.
Escape and subsequent arrest
Pansuk and Pi later fled Singapore on 4 July 2022 by hiding in the container compartment of a Malaysia-registered lorry to leave Singapore and entered Malaysia via Tuas Checkpoint at about 7.25pm. It was reported that the couple had reached Thailand. The arrest warrant was issued against the couple by Singapore Police Force, and the Interpol begin to issue red notice against them.
After the couple had left Singapore, a 40 years old Malaysian man, Mohamed Alias, was arrested by Singapore Police Force for alleged in assisting the couple to escape, he allegedly drove the Malaysia-registered lorry hiding the couple. Mohamed Alias was later charged for helping Pansuk Siriwipa and Pi Jia Peng leaving Singapore illegally on 15 and 22 July respectively. A second Malaysian man, Mohamad Fazli Abdul Rahman, was then arrested by Singapore Police Force for allegedly helping Pansuk and Pi leaving Singapore illegally. He was later charged in Singapore court on 30 July 2022, for one charge of conspiring with lorry driver Mohamed Alias to arrange hiding the couple in the Malaysia-registered lorry.
On 11 August, it was reported that Pansuk and Pi were arrested by the Royal Malaysian Police at a hotel in Johor Bahru, after the Singapore Police Force was informed by the Royal Thai Police a day earlier. At about 6 p.m. Singapore Standard Time, the Royal Malaysian Police handed both Pansuk and Pi to the Singapore Police Force at Woodlands Checkpoint. Both Pansuk and Pi will be charged in court on 12 August.
Family reaction
After the couple became wanted criminals, Pansuk's family were reportedly approached by Thai customers to ask for refund. Pansuk's family then sold the houses in Thailand to refund the customers for 5500 million Thai Baht which Pansuk and Pi bought 2 months before they became wanted criminals. When the Thai news media approach Pansuk's mother, she told the media that she was unaware of Pansuk's business and only knew that Pansuk has a Singapore friend selling luxury bags and watches. Pansuk's mother was nervous and shocked after learning that Pansuk was wanted by Interpol, she begged Pansuk to surrender herself to the police.
