Tony Sparber

Tony Sparber (Anthony Douglass Sparber) was born March 3, 1956 in New York City, New York. He is a Jewish-American weight loss camp Owner/Director and weight loss expert who is also known as the “King of Fat Camp." Sparber earned his bachelor's degree in Business with a minor in Physical Education from Adelphi University.
Sparber is known for his two MTV Documentaries, Fat Camp and Return to Fat Camp.
Life
In 1996, Sparber opened Camp Vanguard in Florida and in 1999, he opened Camp Pocono Trails in Reeders, Pennsylvania, which claims to be the single largest weight loss camp in the United States.
Tony Sparber has also been mentioned in a number of books for his work with overweight youth, as well as his expertise in running accredited camps. The American Camp Association featured Sparber in their 1992 edition of their Guide to Accredited Camps. Weight Loss Confidential: How Teens Lose Weight and Keep It Off and What They Wish Parents Knew also includes a mention of Sparber, and advertises his camp.

Sparber resides in Norwood, New Jersey with his family.
