Early life
Born in Sudbury, Ontario, Sour’s passion for electronic music developed after receiving his first DJ controller at the age of 14. Experimenting with mixing in his adolescence, the idea of a career in music began to nurture in the back of his mind. While attending Laurentian University, pursuing a degree in economics, Sour chose to move to Kelowna, British Columbia to start a career in the music industry. Once in Kelowna, Sour completed the Electronic Music Production program at the Centre for Arts & Technology.
Career
Sour’s first venture in his career in music was the founding of Blue Label Records in 2014. After growing the label for two years, Blue Label Records rostered a number of promising acts and hosted regular shows in both British Columbia and the greater Toronto area.
While growing his venture as a label founder, Sour continued to quietly and diligently hone his craft in his home studio, developing and fine tuning his sound. In 2016, Sour began releasing a series of monthly mixes called the Autobahn Mixes. After gaining considerable traction with his mixes, in March, 2016, Sour released his first original track, Sour Patch Bounce. Since its release, several remixes of Sour Patch Bounce have been released.
His sophomoric single Propane, created with label partner Adym Hym and featuring vocalist Natalie Major, was released in May, 2016.
Sour has plans to release his third single in the summer of 2016 and is currently working on his debut album.
