Tom Crowder

Tom Crowder (born January 21, 1981) is a former American football wide receiver in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys. He also was a member of the Frankfurt Galaxy in NFL Europe. He played college football at the University of Arkansas.
Early years
Crowder attended Camden Fairview High School, where he practiced football, basketball and track. He was a two-way player at wide receiver and free safety, while also being the team's punter and punt returner.
As a senior, he registered 104 tackles (15 for loss), 7 interceptions (3 returned for touchdowns), 3 blocked kicks, 31 receptions for 521 yards, 7 touchdowns, 3 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries. He received All-state and All-district honors.
In track, he set the school's record in the triple jump and pole vault as a senior. He also was the runner-up in the state's decathlon.
College career
Crowder walked-on at the University of Arkansas. As a redshirt freshman, he appeared in 2 games, playing on special teams and making one tackle. As a sophomore, he appeared in 12 games and played mostly on special teams.
As a junior, he appeared in 14 games, posting 21 special teams tackles (led the team), 20 tackles on defense, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and 3 receptions for 35 yards. He earned SEC Special Teams Player of Week honors after his play against the University of Mississippi. He was named to the 2001-02 Southeastern Conference Football Academic Honor Roll.
As a senior, he appeared in 12 games, leading the team with 15 special teams tackles, while making 18 tackles on defense and a blocked punt that he recovered for a touchdown. He also saw limited snaps as a split end on offense.
He was a two-year letterman in track, competing in the decathlon, pentathlon, pole vault, long jump, javelin and 100 metres. He placed fifth in the pentathlon at the SEC Indoor Championships as a junior.
Professional career
Crowder was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Dallas Cowboys after the 2004 NFL Draft. He was waived on September 5. He was signed to the practice squad as a safety on September 7. He was released on September 21. He was signed to the practice squad as a wide receiver on October 26. He was promoted to the active roster on december 28. He was declared inactive in the season finale against the New York Giants.
He was released on September 3, 2005. He was signed to the practice squad on September 5.
In 2006, he was allocated to the Frankfurt Galaxy of NFL Europe. He appeared in 8 games as a backup wide receiver, posting 7 receptions for 62 yards and one touchdown, before suffering a broken jaw. He was released on June 23.
