Tom Abele Jr.

Tom Abele Jr. (born June 2, 1989) is an American former professional stock car racing driver. He last raced in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour in 2016.
Racing career
Abele first attempted a race in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour in 2007 in the series finale at Thompson Speedway, but failed to qualify for the race. In 2008, at the season opener, Abele made his Whelen Modified Tour debut at Thompson, driving for his father's team. He qualified 36th for the race, eventually driving through the field and finishing in 5th place.In the next two races at Stafford Motor Speedway, Abele would finish in 17th in the first race, and would fail to qualify in the second one.Over the remaining races in the season, Abele would also fail to qualify in a race at Riverhead Raceway as well as another race at Stafford.Abele would end the season 21st in the point standings.
In 2009, Abele would race in the first four races in the season, again racing for his dad. He would only break the top-20 once in those four races. Abele would not appear in a Modified race until 2015, when he entered five races in the Whelen Southern Modified Tour, where he would finish in the top-10 one time, and crashing out three times.Abele would return to the Whelen Modified Tour for one final race in 2016 at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl, where he would qualify in 15th and finished in 16th.
