Eddie Garrison was born on April 7, 1977 in Pensacola, Florida. He has been a professional inline hockey player, radio controlled car racer, and touring car racer and sports journalist. Hockey career Eddie began his hockey career as a goaltender, playing for an amateur travel team called the Pensacola Stallions in 1993. Eddie continued his hockey career by moving to Wasila, Alaska to play for the Sinbad Sailors in the Western States Hockey League (Jr. B). After his brief stint in Alaska with the Sailors, Eddie then moved to Coco Beach, Florida where he would become a third string goalie for the Space Coast Blast of the newly formed (1998) Southern Elite Hockey League. Here, Eddie and the Blast won the inaugural season of the Southern Elite Hockey League. When the junior years were behind him Eddie then turned his focus to professional hockey in the 1998-1999 season. He traveled to Nashville Tennessee and a shot at making the roster of the Nashville Knighthawks. He played only in 5 games for the Knighthawks and was released as a free agent from the team. Once the ice hockey offers began to fade away, Eddie then went after the arena of professional in-line hockey where he was met with almost immediate success. He traveled out west to join the High Desert Rattlers in the newly formed Continental Inline Hockey League and was signed during training camp as their reserve goaltender. However, due to economic reasons the league was unable to finish out their season and all players were given their outright free agent release. The team however was not finished as it moved from Victorville California to Phoenix Arizona and was now called the Phoenix Desert Rats. Coached by Todd Wright, the Desert Rats wanted to retain Eddie as their reserve goaltender for the season and they did just that. From the desert Eddie headed to New York for a shot at the NHL of in-line hockey and Roller Hockey International. His agent Dan Dellany of Premiere Hockey Services was running the team in a general manager capacity and gave Eddie a shot at making the squad. The tryout went well for Eddie but due to bigger name goaltenders being brought in, Eddie was asked to play a different position on the team at left wing. He from there continued to play left wing while playing in-line hockey instead of being in goal.
