Todd Simmons

Born in 1968 in Redwood City, California and raised in Portland, Oregon Todd Simmons is an actor, writer and improviser.

He has written articles about Tom Waits, Arcade Fire, Kiki and Herb, Beastie Boys, Iggy and The Stooges, Diamanda Galas, Sonic Youth, Ween, Jandek, Menomena, James Angell, The National, Queens of the Stone Age, Jonathan Richman, Jonny Greenwood, Beth Gibbons, Weird War, The Good, The Bad and The Queen, Franz Ferdinand, New Orleans Jazz Fest, CBGB, The Knitting Factory, Scott Walker, Meat Puppets, Albert Hammond Jr., John Zorn, Alicia Svigals, Os Mutantes and Radiohead.

As an actor he trained at The Lee Strasburg Theatre Institute in Hollywood. He is a member of the Screen Actors Guild and has worked in Off-Broadway theatre, regional theatre, performed at The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. in Biloxi Blues and worked in several independant films. As an improviser he has studied and worked at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, The Peoples Improv Theatre and with the guerilla prank group Improv Everywhere. He also starred in the independant feature film Grinders shot by Matthew Libatique and had small roles in Curtis Hanson's "Bad Influence", Francis Ford Coppola's "Dracula" and the German film "Sunny Side Up". He has also appeared in numerous music videos including one for Motley Crue that aired on Beavis and Butthead. He lives and works in New York City.
