The Toad Kart is a racing vehicle in the , belonging to Toad (as the name implies), and is the same to all other karts (until ') only designed with a blue paint job, and a mushroom sticker on the front redeemed (only in Double Dash!! and later games). It was popular in , being used amongst any other kart on modes including time trial. Appearances Super Mario Kart Shigeru Miyamoto created a vehicle for Toad to race in Super Mario Kart, debut to the series. It can be used in any gameplay mode, including Battle mode in which it is the only automobile option in Mario Kart DS and Mario Kart Wii. Along with the game reviews, the kart was popularized and used for much media such as YouTube videos. The video game's commercial success initially led to the making of a sequel (originally entitled Super Mario Kart R and later changed), released on the Nintendo 64 in North America in early 1997. Mario Kart 64 The character's difficulty has increased, making him slightly harder as an opponent. The prominent appearance of his kart has changed from cartoonish to realistic, as this is the first game in the series to be three-dimensional polygons entirely, although there are derived 2D sprites.
