Unlike Foggyland and Chommo, Eagleland is actually mentioned in the game by various non-player characters. Most of the game's towns are located here including Onett, Twoson, Threed, Fourside, and Happy Happy Village.<ref name="earthbound"/> The Dusty Dunes Desert is a smallish desert that is located in Eagleland.<ref name="earthbound"/> Due to the name and other elements, Eagleland appears to be based on late-20th century America.<ref name="earthbound"/><ref name="wikibound"/> Since the bald eagle is a prominent symbol of America, the first five letters of Eagleland is drawn from that reference.<ref name="wikibound"/>
