Tincta

Tincta is an open source text editor for macOS developed by Mr. Fridge Software.
Tincta is written on Objective-C using the Cocoa API and is distributed through the Mac App Store
Features
Tincta uses the text processor built into macOS. Accordingly, text rendering and editing is mostly equal to other native editors like TextEdit. The main feature point of Tincta is the interface built around the text view.
Tincta can open multiple files in tabs and provides several features targeted to software and web developers like syntax coloring and line numbering. Other notable features are search and replace and spell checking.
Development History
Free Version
Tincta 1.0 was released on July 8, 2011 and was provided as a free download from Mr. Fridge Software's website as well as from the Mac App Store. A major update was released in March 2014 with Tincta 2.
Tincta was removed from the developers' website and from the Mac App Store in Juli 2015 as the developers were concentrating on their vocabulary learning app "Wokabulary"
Pro Version
Besides the free version, a commercial Pro version was introduced in November 2011. The Pro version added features for professional users like split views, file browser and later code snippet management. The Pro version was removed from sale again in September 2014.
Open Source
Tincta's source code was published under MIT License on September 6, 2016 on GitHub.
The initial developers re-added Tincta to the Mac App Store on September 28, 2016 as a free download.
