Time UK is a computer retailer set up by the people behind the original Time Computer Systems. The company is based within the main factory offices at Time Technology Park in Simonstone, near Burnley in Lancashire. The company specializes in providing computers, notebooks and plasma and LCD televisions. The Time brand is owned overseas and is licensed by Time UK. Granville Technology Group Ltd sold TIME branded products directly to UK consumers via websites, mail order or trading as The Computer Shop. Granville went into administration in July 2005. Until then Granville was the leading reseller and exclusive licensee of TIME branded products in the UK. Time UK Factory Time UK Factory is the largest factory of its kind in the UK with massive production capacity. It has in the past manufactured and configured computers for many well-known brands such as Colossus, IBM, and Compaq, in addition to Time branded PCs. This facility also produced products for Granville Technology Group Ltd (see above) TIME Brand The founder of TIME is Tahir Mohsan, who currently runs several investment companies in Dubai. He also bought the Evesham brand when Evesham Technology went into administration in August 2007. The TIME brand is owned overseas and currently licensed to Time UK for use in the UK and to Time Group for all other territories. An offshoot of Time was the mobile phone retailer Time Talk. The majority of Time Talk retail stores were retail concessions within larger electrical stores. In general Time group would lease the floor space to Powerhouse UK Ltd Electrical Retailers who were in direct competition with the likes of Comet and Currys. Time Computers and Time Talk would operate from concessions within the Powerhouse store, although Time Talk and Time Computers branding was prominent on the front of buildings. There were several Time Talk dedicated stores within the UK, who were in direct competition with the then KJC Mobile retail, and Carphone Warehouse. These dedicated stores were located in prime high-street locations featuring the prominent blue and green Time Talk branding. At its height there were between 85-100 branches/concessions nationwide. In the latter part of 2004 following a third reported quarter of losses, Time Talk dramatically downsized the operation to a smaller number of stores. Where possible some management staff were retained and transferred to the sister operation Time Computers, however shortly after the sale of Granville Technology group to the management buyout team in 2005 the entire Time brand went into administration in the UK.
