Tim Scapillato

Tim Scapillato (July 19, 1954-) is a writer and long distance endurance athlete. Tim was born and raised in Port Colborne, Ontario.
He started running in the spring of 1985 as a way to cut his addiction to knitting which he had used to cut his addiction to smoking.
Tim studied Journalism at Niagara College, but eventually completed his B.A. in History (specializing in Canadian history) from the University of Alberta in 1980. He received the Gold Medal in Prairie History for an Honours paper entitled "Organized Labour and the Great War, 1914-1918".
Currently he works as a technical writer and instructional designer for IsaiX Technologies (www.isaix.com), a training company in Montreal with clients in the banking and pharmaceutical industries. For more details see www.timscap.com.
Tim is probably most famous however for his running and writing related to running. He has completed the Boston Marathon 9 times (uninterrupted even by cancer surgery) and has been running for over 25 years. Recently he completed a streak of running every day for 365 consecutive days.
Tim achieved fame by writing quirky, humorous articles for an Ottawa based triathlon website called TriRudy Based on these hilarious short pieces Tim was hired by local editor and journalist Mark Sutcliffe to write for the now hugely successful Canadian running magazine iRun Tim supplies Top 10 lists for magazine. He is currently training to complete an Ironman Triathlon.
