Colonel Thomas P. Evans
Colonel Evans began his career in the Army after he graduated from Mississippi State University in 1984, earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Relations and was commissioned as a ROTC Distinguished Military Graduate. His military education includes the Military Police Officers Basic and Advanced courses, Combined Arms and Services Staff School, Public Affairs Officer Course, the Command and General Staff College, and the Army War College. He also holds a Master of Arts Degree in Business and Organizational Security Management from Webster University.
Colonel Evans has served in a myriad of command and staff positions to include: Platoon Leader, 503rd Military Police Company, Executive Officer, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Brigade, 3rd Armored Division, and Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment Commander, 709th Military Police Battalion, Germany; Battalion S4, Law Enforcement Command, Company Commander, 258th Military Police Company, and Battalion S3, Law Enforcement Command, Fort Polk, Louisiana; Assistant Professor of Military Science, University of Tampa, Tampa Florida; Brigade Public Affairs Officer, 108th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, Detachment Commander, 11th Public Affairs Detachment, and Installation Provost Marshal, Fort Polk, Louisiana; Deputy Division Provost Marshal and Division Public Affairs Officer, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; Battalion Executive Officer, 701st Military Police Battalion, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; Military Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of the Army, Washington, D.C., Deputy Brigade Commander, 18th Military Police Brigade, Deputy Provost Marshal, United States Army Europe and 7th Army, and Battalion Commander, 95th Military Police Battalion, Mannheim, Germany. Colonel Evans’ last assignment was Chief of the Antiterrorism Division, United States Army Europe and 7th Army.
Colonel Evans’ various deployments including Operations Just Cause/Promote Liberty in Panama and Desert Shield/Storm in Saudi Arabia as a Company Commander. Two tours in Bosnia, as a Public Affairs Detachment Commander and as the Public Affairs Officer for the 1st Cavalry Division. His last deployment was Operation Iraqi Freedom One as the Deputy Brigade Commander of the 18th Military Police Brigade.
Colonel Evans’ awards and decorations include: the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (with 7 Oak Leaf Clusters), the Army Commendation Medal (with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters), the Army Achievement Medal (with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters), the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Southwest Asia Medal, the Armed Forces Service Medal, the Kuwait Liberation Medal, the Saudi Arabia Liberation Medal, the NATO Medal, the Army Staff Identification Badge, and the United States Army Parachutist Badge. His unit awards include the Meritorious Unit Citation and the Army Superior Unit Award.
Colonel Evans and his wife Tracie have a daughter Samantha and a son Tucker.
