Thirty Pieces of Silver was founded in 1997 by drummer Pat McCarthy and guitarist Tim Pratt in Lincoln, Nebraska. Shortly after getting together with bassist Paul Wenz, they were joined by guitarist/singer Dale Baty. Their self-titled first cd came out in 1999 and the song "Hellfire and Brimstone Blues" got to number 2 on the mp3.com Christian Blues website and remained there for almost 2 months. The music is a combination of many influences including; Blues, Rock and even a little Country.
