"The Wrath" is a g-funk song written by American rapper Vanilla Ice, Zero, Darryl Delite Allanby and Rod Johnson. It samples the songs "Wicked World" by Black Sabbath, "When Boys Talk" by Indeep, "Hold It Now, Hit It" by Beastie Boys, "Beats to the Rhyme" by Run-D.M.C. and "Son of Slide" by Slave. Writing The song was originally written in 1991 as a response to 3rd Bass. Vanilla Ice premiered it during his 1991-1992 World Tour. The song, originally called The Wrath of the Iceman was sampled with music from Love Rollercoaster by The Ohio Players. When Vanilla Ice's DJ Earthquake quit when Ice fired his then manager Tommy Quon, the song was remixed by Ice's longtime friend and fellow DJ; Zero. Music Video The music video was directed by Ice's longtime friend Greg Synodis - who directed Ice's other music videos (like Ice Ice Baby and Roll 'Em Up). The music video was played on music sites like VH1, The Box and BET - but only for a short period. When SBK Records was bankrupt, the music video was quickly taken out of rotation. Vanilla Ice posted on Twitter that the video is now a rarity and that he doesn't even have a copy.
