Humour
The humour is clean, sharp & witty.<ref name="nose"/> It relies on a play of words for the punchline. The cartoon's focus on wordplay and shun social or political commentary. Although the humour is distinctively english, it has got a large non-english first language following because of its use of english idioms. This has resulted in the cartoons even being used in english courses to illustrate various parts of english grammar. (reference!)
