The Villeins

The Villeins are a 5 piece Indie Rock/Brit Pop band from Newcastle upon Tyne, England. Dave (Vocals), Gav (Bass), Duff (Guitar) and Liam (Drums) have lived in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne all their lives, whereas Andy (Guitar) moved to Newcastle from the North-West (Morecambe) to study at Northumbria University. Their music has been described as heavy post-punk. The band has been together for just over four years; Since replacing the drummer and the guitarist The Villeins begun gigging again, picking up where they left off, supporting the likes of Chris Helme of The Seahorses and, more recently, The Paddingtons. The Villeins recently recorded their second EP ‘Nice Guys Finish Last’ which has had a great response from fans and magazines in the North East as well as fellow musicians well established in the industry such as ‘The Rev’ (ex Towers of London and The Prodigy.) At the beginning of 2011, The Villeins needed to find a new drummer and in that same Summer, they recruited their newest and youngest member Liam Westerby. The Villeins have now looked to get back out gigging again and have landed the support slot for Viva Brother at Newcastle's o2 Academy.
