The Vespas

The Vespas are an indie rock n' roll band from Coatbridge, Scotland. Formed in February 2009, the band currently consists of Johnny Lynn (guitarist), Danny Costello (lead vocalist), Aaron McIntosh (bass guitarist) and Mikey Dolan. (drums) They have achieved great success locally and nationally, the unsigned band have already had a review in YRock, been played on L107 after winning a competition, and are Currently in the final of a UK to USA Battle of bands, which has taken the lads to Manchester's Jabez Clegg also runner up in a Rock against Racism
History
Formation
The Vespas are a small town band thats, going places. The Vespas a four piece, indie rock 'n' roll band from Coatbridge, Scotland. The band formed in late 2008 with friends Danny a singer/songwriter and Johnny guitarist writing songs after Johnny left another band, Aaron was asked to join as bassist in the weeks that followed and the band started practicing without a drummer. In early February 2009 the band was completed when Michael was asked to join as the bands drummer after almost two years of not playing drums at all. From then the band quickly started regularly rehearsing and perfecting their live set which they debuted on March 6 at Barrowlands 2 Glasgow.
The Beginning
The Band created badges emblazing their logo, as there first marketing campaign to strike up local interest and posterered there home town with posters of there first gig. The First gig was played to a packed barrowlands2 on march 6th 2009, since then the band have went on to create hits such as "Wanted Man", "Satisfied" & "I'll Make you mine". As they continue they define there Indie, post-punk, rock n' roll sound, and although begin an unsigned band, they have gained noted places in a variety of supporting competitions. Rock against racism came 3rd and were in with a chance of supporting well known Noisettes and Sugarbabes.

It is clear to see the band have gone many places in a short time, receiving recognitions from and will also be supporting Twisted Wheels, who have themselves been the main support for The Pidgeon Detectives, Kasabian, The View and Oasis UK tour, in King tut's wah wah hut ironically where Oasis first made there name.
