Zebra Rodeo

Zebra Rodeo are an Australian punk rock band, who are known for playing energetic music along with strong Danzig like vocals.
Biography
Zebra Rodeo was formed on The Gold Coast, Queensland in 2006 by Richie C (vocals and guitar) and Shannon Mark (drums). They recruited Shannon's school pal Taj D (bass guitar). The band initially planned to recruit a dedicated guitarist, however after performing successfully as a 3 piece for some time, the band decided against a dedicated guitarist and Richie continued to hold both vocal and guitar duties.
As a three piece, the band forged their signature sound of simple high energy sing-along punk rock. But what set them apart from most punk bands was the strong melodic vocals delivered by Richie C, whose vocals are often compared to those of Glenn Danzig. Wearing his influences on his sleeve, Richie often encouraged the band to perform Glenn Danzig era Misfits covers live.
2007's Howlin' In The Night, was the band's debut release. A six song E.P. released through Dead Nation records on CD. The CD captured their live sound and energy and showcased Richie's vocals. In September 2007 Howlin' In The Night reached No.6 in 4ZzZ's top 20, above Tomahawk, Zombie Ghost Train and Reel Big Fish. Shannon Mark left the band for unknown reasons soon after its release.
They quickly recruited drummer Danny FT (long time friend of Richie's) of Vicious fame and continued to play shows to promote the release of Howlin' In The Night. With Danny's joining, the band played their songs much faster and aggressively when performing live than previously with drummer Shannon Mark.
Zebra Rodeo recorded a follow-up to their debut release Howlin' In The Night in late 2007. The 6 song E.P., entitled Burnin' In The Light, featured Danny FT performing drums on the recording. The E.P. was released in the first half of 2009.
In late 2007, soon after the recording of Howlin' In The Night, Richie C and Taj D moved to Brisbane. Danny FT left Zebra Rodeo soon after. After several months of auditions Zebra Rodeo recruited Aaron 'Azza' Squires from The Meaniacs, and he is the current drummer for the band.
The future
Zebra Rodeo are currently writing a full length album which is planned for release in mid to late 2010. The album will feature the bands current line-up.
