The Ultimate Lego book

The Ultimate Lego book is a history of the very popular Lego construction toy. Published by DK, the book uses the publisher's usual format of lots of pictures surrounded by explanatory text, and covers Lego models, and other things related to the toy. It is also a good source for behind the scenes info about how some of the large models are built for the Legoland Parks. According to the book, the Lego company was named in 1934, when Ole Kirk Christiansen held a competition to name his new company. He won the prize, a bottle of wine, himself after coming up with 'Lego', a contraction of the Danish words for "Play Well," "LEg GOdt."
