Preneur Group

The Preneur Group is a holding company for various telecommunication and business-related enterprises, currently based in Victoria, Australia. It comprises mainly of subsidiary business that provide telecommunication, information technology and marketing products and services to small and medium sized enterprises in the country. It has a mixture of government and private companies, both found either in the internet or externally, and transactions are mainly executed online.

History
Preneur was established around 2005 by Pete Williams, an Australian businessman, who is best known for the MCG memorabilia, a sport memorabilia collection, and his self-help book, How To Turn Your Million Dollar Idea Into A Reality. It started it out with the creation of a phone call/bill reseller company, which eventually grew into a collection of multifaceted primary and secondary businesses, and later evolved into one of Australia's foremost advertising and communication contacts. After gaining success at distributing phone system brands, such as Avaya, LG Aria, Samsung, Panasonic, Hybrex and Alcatel, Preneur extended its service to the provision of on-hold messaging, which allowed user companies to share information about their wares and provide helpful tips regarding related caller concerns.
MCG Memories (2003)
Although this line came before the formal establishment of the Preneur Group, MCG Memories, which pertained to a collection of sports memorabilia, became the initial financial provider and first carrier product of the conglomerate. Inspired by a similar venture accounted in the The One Minute Millionaire by Robert Allen and Mark Victor Hansen, Pete Williams generated much capital on selling off old wood and carpet from the then being renovated Melbourne Cricket Ground as a sporting token. And generating publicity with the headline, "Man Sells Melbourne Cricket Ground For Under $500", this product line then became the most popular sporting commodity of the time, further pushing the conception of Preneur.
How To Turn Your Million Dollar Idea Into A Reality (2006)
Having gained much success with MCG Memories and his subsequent projects, Infiniti Telecommunications and On Hold Advertising, Pete then decided to compile his business secrets in one book, giving aspiring entrepreneurs helpful reference on making a salable product, building its reputation, and cashing in on its popularity. The book served as the fourth carrier product of the Preneur Group.

The Company mainly serves small and medium enterprises in the metro and regional areas of Australia, particularly, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. It largely operates over the internet but has it's head office located in St. Kilda.

The Preneur Group is primarily focused on catering web and iPhone applications and programs, as well as marketing tools and advice, and telecommunication products, services and assistance applicable to the various industries of Australia. **Discount Mobiles, meanwhile, vends quality and cheap mobile phones, unlocked mobile phones, discount mobiles, and the latest mobile phones and accessories, in all kinds and brands.
**Lastly, Used Phone Systems retails fully functional and well maintained used phone systems, such as VoIP and PBX, in addition to used phone handsets and essential spare parts.
*On Hold Advertising - This particular division works hand-in-hand with Infiniti Telecommunication in providing custom-made voice advertising for businesses, which they can broadcast through the phone. It creates specialized and state-of-the-art on hold marketing messages to maximize advertising opportunities during customer hold time.
*Preneur Marketing - This subsidiary covers Pete Williams’ blog site, where he talks about anything and everything that has to with marketing, publicity and business. And it also includes his books and his marketing consultancy; in addition to his charities and other online businesses, like the Renegade Publicist, which helps entrepreneurs, harness the power of media; and iApp Syndicate, which develops and distributes iPhone applications.
Contributions and Recognitions
Preneur Group has provided financial backing to several charities, including the EJ Whitten Foundation, which supports prostate cancer research. It has also lent a hand to the KIVA organization, which helps multiracial entrepreneurs get a head start on their micro business plans, through the 30 Day Challenge.
Preneur's fast and successful 8-year growth has also gained the attention of the Junior Chamber International and as such, gave Pete Williams the coveted honor of being one of the JCI's Creative Young Entrepreneur nominees for the year 2009.
