The Swing Movement is a band based in Bradford, England. Consisting of four members, Ben Walker (vocals/guitars), Patrick Wanzala Ryan (guitars), Joe Gamble (bass) and Kieran Borrett (drums), the group formed in 2006. That summer they won a slot at Leeds Festival, which was quickly followed by a deal to record an album with production company Long Island Records. They continued with their final year of school, and in September 2008 they re-located to London for two weeks, rehearsing material and recording preliminary sessions. After a trip to Manchester for In The City they took a short break at home in Ilkley before heading back to London at the end of October, basing themselves above The Westbury pub, Kilburn. In the last weeks of 2008 Ben Walker announced via The Swing Movement's blog that they had completed their debut record which they had spent 6 weeks working on with producer Jay Reynolds (Just Jack, John Head, Shack) in Long Island Studios. The Swing Movement are working behind the scenes to negotiate an early summer release whilst booking tours and taking time to rehearse songs for a second record.
