The Story of Bonnie and Clyde

The Story of Bonnie and Clyde is an upcoming independent film directed by Tonya S. Holly that stars Hilary Duff as Bonnie Parker and Kevin Zegers as Clyde Barrow and is set to be released in 2010.
Plot
Two of the most infamous bank robbers of all time, Bonnie Parker and her beau, Clyde Barrow, went on a four-year crime spree between 1931 and 1935 during which they pulled off dozens of raids on banks, petrol stations and small stores, and killed at least nine police officers.
Holly said her movie will "cover five years instead of just the two-year crime spree, showing Clyde's prison time and Bonnie's disfigurement in a car crash. The pair had a 21st-century-like obsession with celebrity: They took more photos of themselves than any other gangsters of the era."

Production and release
In early 2009, it was announced that Hilary Duff and Kevin Zegers will star as Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow in the movie which will be produced by Cypress Moon Studios and which will be set to lense in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama for an estimated eight weeks.
Tonya S. Holly will direct the film from her own script, which is a new adaptation of the story of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow rather than a remake of the 1967 classic film starring Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty. Holly began working on the project after reading old newspaper articles about the gangster pair in an abandoned house on her family's property.
Production will begin in late July 2009 and the movie is set to hit theatres in September 2010.
Trivia
* A promotional MySpace page has been created.
* A petition titled "Ban The Story Of Bonnie And Clyde" was also spreading early 2009; the undersigned said "this Petition is to ban the release of the film 'The Story of Bonnie and Clyde'. The film will be starring Hilary Duff, a Disney reject who in no way compares to the talent of Faye Dunaway! Please, prevent the tarnishing of a legendary film!"
* Multifarious websites were not happy with the choice of the cast members or with Holly directing the picture.
* The movie will not be a remake to the 1967 movie but a new vision at Bonnie and Clyde.
