The Snax, originally known as Tasty Snax, were a Christian ska punk group formed around in 1996 where longtime college friends David "Phoenix" Farrell (bass guitars) (currently residing with American rock band Linkin Park), Mark Fiore (lead vocals, before residing as Linkin Park's videographer/director for the song "Given Up"), Mark Keller (drums), and Eric Pffeifer (guitars). They disbanded in 2002, after a year and a half of touring. History The band first entered Moonsong Studios in Riverside, CA late in 1998 to record their debut album Run Joseph Run with local producer Kendall Nadeau and mixer Bob Moon. The album was released via Screaming Giant Records to generally positive reviews early in 1999, and a follow-up album was planned. In early 2000, they entered Golden Track Studios in San Diego, CA to record their self-titled softmore album SNAX, this time with producer and mixer Matt Wignall. The album was released again via Screaming Giant Records, but failed to pick up where Run Joseph Run had left off, and sold poorly. The band went through a few line-up changes later in their career, with Eric Pffeifer being replaced by Ryan "Cheese" Marony after their first release. As Dave left to re-join Linkin Park in 2000, he was replaced by James "Jim" Roach of The Rosewood Fall. Mark Keller was also replaced by Daniel Patterson of The Rosewood Fall shortly after. They are most famous for their 1999 track "Run Joseph Run", which became a hit throughout California. The video for which had heavy rotation in Vans outlets across the state, as well as being requested by MTV. Their bass guitarist, Dave Farrell is now famous as the bass guitarist for Alternative rock band Linkin Park. They regularly played live shows and were one of many regular acts at the Christian Music show, the Cornerstone Festival.
