The Roving Crows

The Roving Crows is a Celtic-rock band consisting of Paul O'Neill on lead vocals and guitar, Caitlin Barrett on fiddle and vocals, Marc Miletitch playing Double Bass and percussionist Josh Balen. The Roving Crows' music has roots in traditional Irish music and influences range from country and funk to rock and blues. The groups' base is spread between Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire. The Roving Crows formed in 2007 and are touring extensively around the south west of England, Ireland and France . The Roving Crows have been championed heavily by The Friday Session on BBC Hereford and Worcester and are featured on the BBC's Artists Pages . Their song 'Mary' were fist played on BBC Hereford and Worcester in January 2010, a few months later 'Time' was played on BBC Gloucestershire.
Their first album titled simply 'The Roving Crows' was released in 2010 and was recorded at Berry Hill Studios in Coleford, Gloucestershire. John David of Berry Hill has produced for many artists such as Robert Palmer, Status Quo, Shakin' Stevens, Alvin Stardust and Samantha Fox.
In 2010 The Roving Crows were one of 28 bands chosen from 70 hopefuls to perform on the BBC Introducing Stage at Wychwood Festival in Cheltenham. 6 counties which border Gloucestershire, were invited to submit bands from their ‘BBC Introducing’ radio shows. The judging panel consisted of BBC 6Music's Tom Robinson, BBC Radio 1's Bethan Elfin, The Independent newspaper's music critic Elisa Bray and Wychwood's Festival Director Graeme Merrifield.
The Independent Newspaper compiled a free download album in honour of the BBC Introducing Event, featuring all 28 artists .
The Roving Crows are no strangers to performing in Cheltenham having headlined in 2008 and 2009 at The Brewery in Cheltenham during both years Cheltenham Gold Cup events
Other highlights of 2010 include being asked to headline West Fest ] in Malvern, Worcestershire.
They have been described by Andy O'Hare from BBC Hereford & Worcester as having "originality in bucketloads".
