The Reciprocity Complex

The Reciprocity Complex is a psychosexual tendency towards others only so long as they do not reciprocate these feelings. In other words The Reciprocity Complex is a in which someone has sexual feelings for another person (sometimes simply because they do not feel as this other person likes them back), but these feelings only last until the other person satisfies these sexual desires, whether physically or mentally, at which point the sexual feelings of the individual go away. The can also be applied to situations outside of human relationships, where in some situations humans desire an object or an accolade - such as winning an Olympic Gold Medal - and as soon as these desires are satisfied, or as soon as the individual believes himself capable of attaining whatever it is that is desired, the desires dissipate (an example of this is Abhinav Bindra who wanted to quit shooting after winning Olympic Gold - http://www.moneycontrol.com/news/sports/wanted-to-quit-shooting-after-winning-olympic-gold-bindra_497014.html). This complex stems from the feeling that one is not good enough, a kind of self loathing, in which an individual has to prove to himself that he is capable of doing or achieving certain things, and, when the individual is satisfied that he can achieve the desire, he no longer has any desire for it (in some cases the individual is in fact repulsed by the original desire).
