Then his second year he won five medals from USATF, AAU, and the Cliff Willey Meets .At the 2007 AAU championships he really started his career as a track and field athlete, that year he won four gold and one silver medal, in the 1500m, 800m, and the 400m. Then he went to the nationals in Knoxville, Tennessee but choked because of the audience. Then in 2008 he had another good year winning two gold, two silver, and one bronze medal, but then did not go to the 2008 nationals because of a trip back home to Nigeria. Then in 2009 he had a terrible year because he wanted to play. He didn't win one gold medal just a copper, two bronze, and a silver in the same events. Then he also started running hurdles but his hurdling career was finished due to the fact he did not win at nationals.
