The Pain of An Empty Stomach is a 2015 non-fiction book by Zambian-born author, Joseph Kalimbwe. It explains how African governments fail to provide basic services to citizens due to corrupt activities. The book was named in best sellers list in 2015 and it won the best fiction book of that year. Content and Spynoposis The book details the political climax in Africa and how African nations have hundreds of citizens not having access to basic commodities. According to the book, the Arab Spring had rising at the backdrop of African governments taking the plight of people for granted. In 2011 prior to the uprisings, young people had not gathered enough strength to question the government. At the time of its release, The Post released a statement that the Rupiah Banda government of Zambia spokesperson had written stating the book had no facts of corruption in his government. |
