The Other People

The Other People is a Mumbai - based band who formed seven years ago, when an enterprising group of musicians came together. The band saw early success and stood out in the crowd, aptly calling themselves ‘The Other People’. The band performs renditions of popular songs of artists from the late 1950s right up to the 2000s.
They have started composing their own music and in the process of recording the same.
The band debuted with a frenzied night of classic rock and rock and roll at Not Just Jazz By The Bay, Mumbai in July 2004. Jam packed shows and many rehearsals later, The Other People had Mumbai’s nightlife abuzz and became hugely popular for their Rock and Roll renditions. Qualified Soft Rock, Retro and Rock and Roll as their distinguishable genre. With Reggae and Blues coming a close second, the band has a wide audience and fan following of people aged anything between 16 and 60 plus, and more often than not, the band ensures that they ‘dance till they drop!’ Known to bring an original twist into each track, the band never fails to surprise an audience and has them hooked.

The Other People have opened for American alternative rock band Saving Abel for their India Tour in 2010
3 months later the band opened for Danish pop-soft rock sensation Michael Learns To Rock at the Palace Grounds, Bangalore
In October, 2010 the band returned to the Palace Grounds. Bangalore this time invited to play at the highly acclaimed annual festival The Great Indian October Fest (TGIOF) which is sponsored by
The Other People played at The Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, Mumbai for two consecutive years i.e. 2009 & 2010.
The Other People have innumerable shows under their belt at live venues including the Hard Rock Café (Mumbai & Hyderabad), Blue Frog,. Along with these clubs, the band has performed at the world - renowned ‘Lakme India Fashion Week’ Finale After Party in November 2008, the prestigious Terry Fox Run Mumbai After Party, the launch of ‘Absolut Vodka’s Rock Edition Mumbai’ and at a party hosted by one of India’s biggest and internationally recognized Fashion Designers - Wendell Rodricks.

The Other People were selected by Vogue India to be featured alongside Genelia D'souza for the photo-shoot of her cover story in the December 2010 issue.
