The Ryde

The Ryde is a Canadian rock band based in Toronto, Ontario. The band was originally formed in Thunder Bay, Ontario in 2003. Following some member changes during the early days and shortly after their debut self-titled album, today's four-piece ensemble includes Tim Shaw (vocals, rhythm guitar), Boris Novak (bass), Jeff Johnson (drums) and Andrew Roudny (lead guitar). The foursome have together released their second album, Take Aim in 2008.
The band's signature sound has, at times, been compared to Van Halen, Rush, Foo Fighters, and many others. The Ryde continue to perform in the Greater Toronto Area in world-renown venues such as the Horseshoe Tavern and Hard Rock Cafe. In 2008, The Ryde played to a Thunder Bay crowd of approximately 20,000 people opening for Vince Neil of Motley Crue. Most recently, they have been selected to play in the Indie Week festival held in Toronto in October 2009.
