The Obsidian Wall, published on August 11, 2011 is a complex fantasy novel that takes place in the fictitious world of Entorin. It was written by A. S. Detterbeck. The novel should not be confused with The Obsidian Trilogy, but rather is the first in a series of novels by Mr. Detterbeck. It is 374 pages long. Plot The tale of Valcorin takes the reader from the young boy's parent's murder through choices that will shape the entire world. He finds companions along his journey and must make many decisions between what is better for the entire free world and what brings him vengeance for his parents being taken from him. He becomes entangled in the fight for the survival of Entorin. His journey and his struggles are also accompanied with his development of the magical language, livëlmpor. The tale is gripping and brings the reader into the struggle of growing up alone and without parents and Valcorin's struggles brings his emptions and the story to life.
