The Needlers

"The Needlers: The Couple That Should Be Divorced" is a recurring sketch on Saturday Night Live. Seth Meyers and Amy Poehler portray Dan and Sally Needler, a couple who spends every waking second arguing (needling each other). Why they will not get a divorce is beyond the rational reasoning of anyone (hence the subtitle). During the sketches, the Needlers (previously known as the Harrisons) constantly argue, and other characters often bring up the question of marriage counseling. The sketches invariably end with Dan and Sally having sex in public (in the kitchen, in a closet, in a waiting room, etc.). The March 4th episode (hosted by Natalie Portman) featured the couple visiting a fertility clinic. In one sketch, which takes place at a Hofstra University reunion, it is revealed that the Needlers met while they were students at the university.
