Michael Bruggink is an American ex-soldier who, for a few weeks before his capture, was hunting Osama bin Laden. Following the 9/11 attacks Bruggink entered active duty in the army. In 2004 Bruggink received an honorable discharge. He spent some time in Kuwait as a member of Combat Support Associates. Eventually he resigned and moved to Southeast Asia to live in Thailand. Afghanistan In 2011 Bruggink spent 2 weeks in Afghanistan using a boar-hunting scholarship as a cover to look for the terrorist leader Osama bin Laden. He had returned to the United States and was planning a trip to Pakistan to continue his hunt when he heard the news that Osama was dead.
