Nathan Geist (born August 16, 1986) is an American actor and active soldier (rank of E-5 Sergeant) in the United States Army National Guard. He is best known for his active involvement in both the film industry and the United States military, two seemingly unconnected professions. He played Donnie Wahls (formerly billed as "Third Applicant") in the film The Promotionand is one of the youngest non-commissioned officers in the military. He is currently preparing for a deployment to Afghanistan with the 33rd Brigade Combat Team in the Illinois Army National Guard, putting his film career temporarily on hiatus.
