The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) is a business network in the United States for female executives, professionals, and entrepreneurs. The stated goal of NAPW is for professional women to interact, exchange ideas, educate, and network. Founded by Matt Proman, the National Association of Professional Women works to help women in their careers. Programs The National Association of Professional Women offers a mentorship program which connects professional women who are established in their fields with mentees who desire to be guided and advised by someone they would like to emulate in their professional career. In 2010, NAPW, and the National Urban League announced the formation in Essex County, New Jersey of an "Open Doorways” mentoring program designed to offer young girls an opportunity to benefit from professional female role models. The pioneering group consists of 8 professional women that will be mentoring these young girls for 6 months. This is a program that will be expanded to different cities throughout the US in the future. STAR12, a membership program by Rockhurst University Continuing Education Center, Inc. and its training divisions, includes National Seminars Group, Padgett-Thompson, CompEd Solutions, Rockhurst Audio & Web Conferences, National Businesswomen's Leadership Association, Keye Productivity. Lorman Education Group provides continued education on a variety of topics and offers NAPW members discounts. Each year NAPW awards 5 young women $1,000.00 college scholarships, as part of its NAPW Rising Stars Education Scholarship. Each month NAPW airs a new episode of NAPW In the Studio, an interview-style show hosted by Robin Dorian. each month Robin interviews a different woman (or man) who shares pertinent and valuable information for professional women. Past guests include: Marci Shimoff, contributor from The Secret and author of Happy for No Reason, Susan Wilson Solovic, Author of The Girl's Guide to Building a Million Dollar Business, Gail Blanke, author of Throw Out Fifty Things, and many more. Every two weeks NAPW airs a new personal finance segment hosted by Emmy Award Winning journalist, and former CNN Business anchor, Valerie Coleman Morris. Topics include: overlooked tax deductions, creative ways to save money, save money of cell phone bills, save money on rental cars, avoid identity theft, choosing a financial advisor, and many more. Complaints As of April 2010, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) had recorded 58 complaints against the National Association of Professional Women since its establishment in October 2007. All but one of the complaints had been resolved. The BBB gave the organization a rating of "F" (the lowest available rating) on its scale of "A" to "F."
