Plot Summary
Archaeologist Gillian Bright is summoned to the long deserted Mayan city of Tikal by her esteemed friend, Professor Richard Deinhart, to investigate the discovery of a structure that is out of keeping with its surroundings. Unfortunately this building proves to be their downfall and when Gillian’s friends become ensnared she is left to uncover the riddle created by a Mayan Priest called Kinix (500AD)that is the key to their freedom. With the trap supported by a fifteen hundred year old rope, Gillian Bright knows their time is limited.
An unwitting counterpart, Adam Housner is dragged from Australia to find that his relatively boring and predictable life is transformed into a whirlwind of adventure and fear. His Mayan Calendar round, listed for sale on Ebay forces him to become an integral part of Kinix's plan and his imput is crucial in assisting Gillian. As a combined force they visit ancient sites of Uaxactun and Palenque where they collect further clues left by Kinix including extracts of his diary. This evidence is used to stop Gillian's friends death becoming a reality.
Unfortunately their actions are followed closely by the malicious leader of a self manufactured sect, Arun Keane. His undercover and criminal business ventures were designed to ensure he had the funds to place his men in positions of high power and his sect was the perfect cover. He wanted absolute power for himself and his desire for items of great value fuelled his belief in his greatness. He wants Kinix's secrets and would kill to get it.
