The Marquee Room

The Marquee Room, formally the Kaboom Room, is a restaurant, bar, and nightclub, located on Steven Avenue in Calgary, Alberta. It is named after the type of sign commonly used at movie theaters to display what is playing (See Marquee) and brings in musical acts from across Canada, appealing especially to Calgary's artsy indie following. Said to be the ideal hangout after watching a film at The Uptown Stage and Screen Cinema (Home Of The Calgary International Film Festival) located in the same building.
Press & Reviews
Winner of the 2007 Best New Bar Award, according to FFWD Weekly

"A bar that delivers everything from two-time local DMC champ DJ Disoriental along with Wax Romeo every Friday night to art exhibits from up-and-coming ACAD grads, there’s no doubt why Calgarians voted the Marquee Room as Calgary’s best new bar for 2007. If it’s indie culture and flicks you crave, then this two-headed beast is a definite headliner." -H.J.
