The Mana World

The Mana World is a free and open source cross platform multiplayer online computer role-playing game.

The Mana World (TMW) is a serious effort to create an innovative free and open source MMORPG. The game provides 2D tile based graphics along with pixel art content and aims to create a large and diverse interactive world.

Technical information

Game client is currently tested on Linux, Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, however the coding style should allow the client to work on any POSIX compliant OS, the game server is tested on Linux and Windows.

Client interface is using OpenGL and optionaly SDL libraries and is written using programming language.

Native server code is under development and is not fully functional yet, however the game client is compatible with eAthena Ragnarok Online software which is used as the official server.

The Mana World is one of most active projects in SourceForge.net site category "Role-Playing" and is a finalist of this Source Forge Community Choice Awards in category "Best Project for Gamers".

The game is also included in most of mainstream Linux distributions such as Fedora, Ubuntu, Debian, Arch Linux.
